Farmland and Poppy Fields

This morning scene is of a small bucolic farm near the California Poppy Preserve in the Antelope Valley.  The poppies and other wild flowers were starting to come into bloom in the surrounding fields after early spring rains had brought much needed moisture to the area.

This piece won first place in the oil/acrylic category at the Thousand Oaks Art Association Annual Member Show in Nov 2014, and second place in the oil/acrylic category of the Simi Valley Art Association Open Juried Show held in Oct 2014.

This painting was also featured in the May 2018 Westlake Magazine in an article titled Conejo Artists by Ken Phillips.
